Frequently Asked Questions:
How much do you charge and
why?
It depends on the date, type
of event, location,
duration, number of guests,
etc. We are not an
"average" DJ service. We
are proud of the value we
bring to our clients and
price our service on that
value. Before you decide on
the least expensive DJ,
think about how much of an
influence a disc jockey has
on the success of your
event.
What is your payment policy?
The retainer amount is
usually $500.00. The
remainder is due two weeks
(14 days) before the event.
This policy is in place to
assure you don't have to
worry about carrying
payments to your event.
What is your cancellation
policy?
The retainer fee is
non-refundable. It can
however be applied towards a
future booking within one
year if we have the date
available.
What is your personal check
policy?
A personal check can be
accepted for any payment up
to two weeks (14) days
before an event..
What is your policy on
"holding" dates for someone?
Our policy is very easy and
fair to both you and us.
All dates are on a first
come first served basis. If
you've called or emailed
about a particular date and
it is open, someone else can
contact us and reserve it.
However, once we agree on a
fee and we send you a
"written" price quote, that
date is reserved for you for
a period of 7 days. If we
do not receive your retainer
and signed agreement by the
deadline listed on the
agreement, the date once
again becomes available to
the next person that may
want it. If we do receive
your retainer and signed
agreement by the deadline,
the date is all yours and
you don't have to worry
about the entertainment
anymore!
After we hire you for our
wedding, when do we meet to
go over all the final
details?
Ideally, I would like to
have all the final details
for your event 3 weeks (21
days) before your reception.
This includes all song
requests. This gives us
adequate time to arrange
your event and locate the
songs if they are not in our
library.
Why should we hire you?
Anyone can play music.
A DJ should do more than
simply play music. A good
DJ will also act as the MC
of an event, we actually
bring one MC and one DJ to
each event to make sure
things move along smoothly,
a good MC is the most
important part of the
wedding reception. The
DJ/MC brings out the
personality of the event.
He adds to the atmosphere.
He must be experienced
enough to constantly adjust
throughout the event to
assure everyone has a good
time. Why me? Because of
my years of experience. My
personalized service. My
attention to detail. My
energy and enthusiasm. My
extensive collection of the
best party music of all
time, and my ability to read
a crowd.
I have a friend that will DJ
my wedding for $300. Can you
beat it?
No we can't beat that. To
our knowledge, we know of no
professional DJ that has the
expensive professional
equipment, music library,
and experience to host a
successful wedding within
this price range.
Is your music collection
100% legal?
Yes. With the advent of
illegal file-sharing on the
internet, it can be easy for
an individual to simply
download all the songs they
want and start a DJ
business. We are a
legitimate and professional
Disc Jockey service.
All of our music was (and
is) purchased and owned by
us. We know and trust the
quality of our own music.
We know it will be
fantastic at your event.
Do you provide a written
contract?
Absolutely. We will outline
all the entertainment
related information that we
have agreed on in an easy to
read contract. This will
protect you the client, as
well as us the provider of
excellent DJ services.
Will you stay in touch with
us?
Yes. We check in with you
about once a month leading
to your event. We are
incredibly easy to contact.
Emails are replied to ASAP.
You can always call us, and
our site is open 24/7.
What kind of music do you
provide?
We provide Big Band, Dance,
Classic Rock, Popular Rock,
Top 40, Swing, Jazz, Dance,
Country, Disco, Ethnic,
Latin, Popular, Motown,
etc.. In addition to all the
best party hits from the
40's to today. All
together, we have 1000's of
the best songs to play for
any event. All seamlessly
blended to assure a great
time!
Will you send a "substitute"
DJ?
No. I take great pride in
my performance. I do not
sub-contract. You are
asking for me to be your DJ
and you will be assured I
will be there. We do not
think it is fair to a client
to have a different DJ show
up unexpectedly at their
event after it has already
been agreed that I will be
there. To us, that is bad
business practice. A
substitute DJ can only be
utilized for your protection
in a health or family
emergency.
Can we pick out music for
our event?
Of course!! You can pick out
some or all of your songs.
Or, you can leave it up to
our years of experience to
blend the right selects for
your specific event. We
actually enjoy getting lists
from our clients. (In order
to give us the best possible
chance of obtaining requests
for your event, we need to
get a final request list
from our clients at least 21
days before the event date.
We cannot guarantee
availability of a song
requested too close to an
event if we do not currently
own it.)
Do you carry backup
equipment?
YES!! We bring and set up a
full backup sound system and
music to each and every
event. We feel ALL DJ's
should have backup equipment
with them at all times for
your peace of mind. If a
service claims to have their
backup a "phone call away",
run as fast as you can!
Can we meet with you before
our event?
Absolutely. We understand
circumstances may prevent
you from having the chance.
That's why we offer
complete access to your
event planning via our
Real-Time web based
software. We are always
available in-person, by
telephone, and email.
Whatever it takes to get
the planning completed to
your satisfaction, we will
do.
Do you take (and play)
requests.
Yes and no. Yes, we take
requests that are danceable.
We keep track of requests
and will play them at
appropriate times during the
event. And no, we won't
play anything inappropriate
or offending or containing
vulgarity. Especially if
there are children at the
event. We try to play as
many requests as possible.
But, there are times when
there simply is not enough
time to play them all. Or,
the client may advise us not
to play certain songs.
Do we have to tip you?
You're not required to. We
price our events at the
professional level. But, if
you feel our service (or any
other vendor) has performed
over and beyond your
expectations, then it is at
your discretion.
Can we come and see you in
action at a party of
reception?
Unfortunately no. We do not
think it is appropriate to
invite potential clients to
our current clients events.
We respect their right to
privacy. Since every
clients taste's are
different, you may view an
event and think, "this DJ is
not my style", when in
reality, the DJ may simply
be complying with the wishes
of that particular client.
Do you take breaks?
No. Not unless you want or
require us to. The music is
non-stop!!
Can we (or a guest) give you
a CD to play?
For the most part, the
answer is yes. We cannot
control the content or
quality of what might be on
a CD given to us.
Especially a home-made one.
There is also the added
chance of possible damage to
our equipment by a damaged
CD. So, you are welcome to
give us the CD to test for
quality and content before
the event.
What kind of equipment do
you use?
It is all top of the line
professional DJ equipment.

equipment.
What if you get sick?
In our eyes, the show must
go on. In the remote
possibility that an
emergency prevents us from
getting to your event, we
are happy to say that we
have a full backup plan. My
wife and I have access to
backup Dj's phone numbers at
all times. We network and
trust a few very
professional DJ's. We will
contact them and work with
you to make sure your event
is a complete success.
Are you available for
overtime?
We want to keep the fun
going for as long as you
want. We can work beyond
our contracted time if our
schedule allows and we do so
free of charge.
Do you provide music lists
at the event?
We are proud to say that we
have an extensive and up to
date database of our music
on computer.
How Do We Hire You?
We will discuss your event
and your needs. Agree on a
fee. We'll give you an
agreement/contract. Simply
sign it and return it with
your retainer by the date
indicated on your
agreement/contract. We will
notify you upon receipt that
your entertainment has now
been confirmed. From there,
we'll stay in touch with you
and help you with the
planning process leading to
your event. It's that easy.
